Forgiveness

Once again, our lives have taken an unexpected turn on this odyssey we call life. Being on the inside of ministry is eye opening to say the least. But as I want so much to lash out and be bitter, I hear God's gentle whisper.

Our first Sunday here was confirmation that God has placed us here. The Sunday school lesson was on forgiveness. I just looked heavenward and said, OK God. His inexplicable peace washed over me. Then we got the book for our next study entitled, "This Season of Waiting is Not the End of the World."

You see, through the sacrifice of Jesus, I have been forgiven. Yet, what good is that if I do not forgive others? Colossians 3:13 says, "...Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive."

Forgiveness is a funny thing. It's not so much for the other person's sake, as it is for mine. I am not hurting the person that told my friend mean things about me by being mad. I'm just allowing Satan a foothold into my heart so that he can pull me away from God. I'm going to choose to forgive and cling to Romans 8:28 "We know that all things work together  for the good  of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose."

God has a plan for us. Praise be to Him.
